GUIDANCE FOR INDONESIAN FOREIGNER IN TAIWAN

NHI Card (健保卡 / jiànbǎokǎ)

HOW TO APPLY HEALTH ASURANCE?

NHI (National Health Insurance) is an insurance card that can be used when we go to the doctor. All citizens (citizens and foreigners) are required to apply for NHI, including foreign students enrolled in full-time programs at Taiwan universities. With this card, we will get a fee discount because some of the costs are assisted by the government. Usually this NHI card will be assisted by the school. To be enrolled in the NHI program, students (with ARC) must stay for 180 days in Taiwan (allowed once abroad, but not more than 30 days).

Fees: NTD 4,956 per semester (826 NTD per month), usually billed every 6 months (at the time of payment of tuition fees at the beginning of each semester)
